Although, flexibility seems like something to strive for, it is only a small piece of the puzzle. Flexibility is how far you can go to your end range of motion, whereas mobility is the ability to actively control within this range. It is one thing to be able to slide into full splits, but can you control and contract your muscles once in the posture?
